Sunday 4th November 2007, Southend 46 - Upminster 5 Tries: James Bishop Southend, having declared a number of overage players prior to the match, agreed to play this match as a training game. The match kicked off with Upminster dominating the play until a handling error led to a Southend breakaway try. The match continued with the same format with Southend, having been pinned in their own half, scoring a second breakaway try. Upminster continued to dominate in the loose but were unable to gain a foothold in the set plays. The backs managed to score an excellent try, with James Bishop going over in the corner. At half time the score was 10 - 5 but Upminster felt confident they could pull this score back. Both sides made extensive substitutions during the interval. When the match restarted Southend were dominant throughout, enabling them to run in 6 unanswered tries with 3 of them being converted. Upminster battled well to the end and showed great team spirit.
Sunday 28th October 2007, Upminster 37 - Maldon 14 Tries: Connor, Lloyd Coleman, Liam Smith, Errol Kiani (2), Alex, David Alder. Conversion: Liam Smith The team turned up for this game with a much better attitude, and took their chances well with some good play, turning round at half-time with a score of 32 - 0. Sunday 21st October 2007, Braintree 53 - Upminster 0 Our initial problem was that for various reasons we were missing some of our squad, meaning that some players had to play out of position. We made a number of mistakes which the other team were quick to exploit. As players got tired our discipline suffered and as a result got beaten by this score. Time to learn from our mistakes.
Sunday 14th October 2007 No training or match because of Upminster Minis Festival
Sunday 7th October 2007, Medway 19 - Upminster 10 Tries: Ronnie Miller, Sid Atkinson A lot better performance, dominated possession and territory. Deserved at least a draw. Powerful display of running and tackling from David Alder. More performances like this could lead to wins.
Sunday 30th September 2007, Chingford 29 - Upminster 0 Strong performance, unlucky not to have come away with a score. Forwards competed well, backs came up against an organised Chingford defence. Man of the Match: Lloyd Coleman.
Sunday 23rd September 2007, Canvey Island 47 - Upminster 7 Try: James Bishop. Conversion: Liam Smith Disappointing start to the season. We looked better during the second half.
