Safety

All registered players and coaches are covered by the club insurance.  While every effort is made to ensure safety, players should always play or train wearing a well-fitting gum shield.  It is increasingly popular to wear head guards or body “armour”.  Such items are at parental discretion.

Registration

Annual Registration paperwork includes:-

-          Upminster RFU Registration Form  (**)

-          Subs (£35 / season)

Also, there is initially the following paperwork required:-

-          RFU Youth Registration Form  (**)

-          2 x passport-sized photographs

(**)  Both forms may be found on URFC Web Site, Home > Club Information > Membership Details, called "Youth Sides" and "RFU Youth Registration Form (U7 to U19).

All paperwork should be passed to the team manager who will arrange for it to be processed.

Matches

Players need  a pair of black shorts, a pair of URFC socks and their own boots.  All equipment is sold through Fenton Sports in Brentwood.  Match shirts will be provided for matches and must to be handed in once the game is over for washing.  Players are required to arrive / depart Match Days in a shirt and club tie.  For new starters, school shirt / tie is acceptable in the short term.

Washing

Match shirts are supplied which are returned to the club at the end of the season or the team is charged for the missing shirts.  After each match the shirts are collected and given to a volunteer family to wash prior to the next match.  We are grateful for everyone’s support in this, to avoid the same people always getting the job!

Support

Everyone involved with the team are doing so on a voluntary basis, and we are always grateful for all support from parents, whether from people who want to become active members of the coaching team, or just to help fill the water bottles or clear rubbish etc from the pitch prior to the start of matches.  We also request that while vocal support from parents during matches is excellent, poor sportsmanship is actively discouraged.

Email

Emails are sent out on a weekly basis with directions to matches, team selection, fixtures lists etc.  It is therefore useful to have a contact email address.  You will not be flooded with jokes etc.
