TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENT AND STRATEGY

Replaced legacy platform with virtualised Cloud computing platform as a launch pad for new era products including On-line backup, Data Replication, Hosted VDI, Hosted Applications, supporting circa £2m revenue within 12 months

• Design and development of Emergency Office, a hosted remote VDI solution, Winner of Most Innovative Solution for V1.0 at the 2010 CIR Industry awards again in 2011 for v2.0

• Development of On-line Backup service, becoming fastest going Asigra reseller in UK, achieving 25-fold revenue growth in first 12 months at 60% Gross margin

• Designed and developed Assurity’s unique email and internet disaster recovery solution e-b@k, a highly resilient instantaneous email delivery solution, adding a unique high margin (80%GM) product to portfolio, achieved 95% penetration into existing and prospect contract base

• Design, specification, implementation and subsequent development of nationwide private ATM network to interconnect 10 ICM sites. Enabled on-selling of WAN/LAN circuits to clients, self-funding after 18 Months. After 3 years redesigned network to utilise new technical advancements and provide additional services whilst taking advantage of lower costs and increase margins, Internet services sold over this service achieved 90% margin

• Growth strategy derived from new products and services from 2003 to 2008 resulted in recovery centres doubling to 20 and with the additional technical service offerings, produced a revenue increase year on year from £6.7M in 2003 to £18.8m in 2007. Placing ICM in top 3 of UK Business Continuity providers


TEAM BUILDING

 • Formation of Production Services team under ITIL guidelines to deliver and support Cloud based services (Online Backup, Emergency Office and Data Replication)

• Created dedicated Professional Services division delivering Technical and Business Continuity consulting. Achieved 3-fold increase in revenue in 12 months at 53% gross margin

• Championed Project Office concept based upon Prince 2 methodology to ensure client implementation and major projects managed consistently – Project Implementation fees accounting for 10% of subsequent annual revenue

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT

• Instrumental in two MBOs and business start ups, businesses achieved profitability ahead of forecast, all achieved higher than expected exit figures

• Identified market opportunities to widen portfolio and increase client spend with added value services. Developed Business plan and created Business unit and processes to take full advantage

• Proven Business integration manager, using project management and commercial skills to ensure fast and cost effective integration of both individual business units and whole businesses from both a technical and commercial level, managing staff and client expectations through the change

 
PROJECT MANAGEMENT

 • Project Director for roll-out of £2.5m Avaya Aura voice over IP solution over 15 centres. Realised 30% cost savings in communications spend

• Senior Project Director responsible for Design and Development of ICM’s flagship recovery centre at Farnborough. A 12000 m2 Office and Datacentre complex (£13.8M project) – Delivered on time and under budget

• Designed and Project Managed build of ICM’s (then) largest Recovery Centre at Romford comprising 2000m2 Office Recovery centre with 500m2 Datacentre. Both with N+1 generator backed power systems (£4m Project). Delivered on time and on budget, Pre-sold £3m annual contract value (£9M total ) ensuring building profitable on day one
